Carolina received her BS in Agronomic Engenering from University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP) in 2006, and a MS from ESALQ/USP in 2009, studying spatial distribution and the development of SSR markers for Anacardium humile, a wild cashew species from Cerrado biome. She received her PhD from University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2015, studying the mating system and genomic diversity of Piptadenia gonoacantha, a native tree species from Atlantic Forest in Brazil widely used in forest restoration projects. At present, during her Postdoc in UNICAMP and in the López-Uribe Lab from PSU, Carolina is discovering the bee’s universe, using the approach of landscape genomics of bees pollinating cotton fields in Brazil to study how landscape connectivity may influence local pollinator population viability.
