Selina earned her B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Bern, Switzerland, before moving to Auburn, Alabama to get her Ph.D.. While her past research mainly focused on effects of insecticides and Varroa mites on honeybee health, she collaborated on various projects, such as the Bee Informed Partnership’s annual Colony Loss and Management Survey. Apart from research, Selina is passionate about beekeeping extension and science communication. At Penn State, she is working on testing and promoting management practices related to organic beekeeping.
