Stephania received her B.Sc. in Biology from Universidad del Valle (Colombia) in 2014 and her M.Sc. in Entomology from the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil) in 2018, where she studied the impact of the Andean uplift on the microevolutionary patterns of orchid bees with cross-Andean distributions. She is interested in the evolutionary ecology, biogeography, and conservation of bees. She is currently working on the species delimitation of species in the genus Eulaema, and the evolutionary ecology of Apid cuckoo bees.
