Laura is an entomologist with broad interests at the intersection of behavior, ecology, and the conservation of both human and animal livelihoods. She earned her Ph.D. at Virginia Tech studying the honey bee waggle dance and neurobiology of herbicide exposure in 2024. As a postdoctoral researcher in the López-Uribe lab, Laura is working with an interdisciplinary, multi-university collaborative project aimed at exploring the possibility of certified organic honey production in the continental United States.
